Sona Avedian is a 32 years old trans woman, she was born in Michigan and grew up in Hadley and Rochester. Sona Self-Identifies as a female by the age of 4.
She quotes “I am a girl!”, “I’m not a girl?”, “Do you remember when I was a girl and I had long hair?”… And ever since then has been my journey. Nothing defines me but me. I was raised in a religious household. Did well in school, joined the Marines in 2000, and lived in Japan for nearly 4 years. Visited 46 countries before turning 30. Love languages, culture, and touring the world. I got married to an Armenian girl.
She is a Neurologist here in the US. We were married for 7 years while I continued to deploy overseas as a contractor. We had a child together and divorced shortly after I came out (Nov 2012). I started taking Testosterone blockers Jan 6 2012, and I began Estrogen Feb 2013. I changed my entire lifestyle around, started eating right and with my exercise, I lost about 92 lbs.
Sona’s transition is nothing short of amazing, many have even doubted that this is a real transition and have quoted this is a genetic girl pretending to be trans. We at Transition radio decided that her story is beyond inspiring and wanted her to be on our show.
