Kathy Baldock, Executive Director of Canyonwalker Connections, is a prominent advocate or “repairer of the breach” (Isaiah 58: 12) between the church and the GLBT Christian community. Kathy writes, blogs, speaks and is dedicated in working towards dialogue and education on issues of faith and sexual orientation/gender identity.
She has the unique voice in the dialogue as a Christian with a moderate voice that can easily engage in productive rhetoric. When speaking with non-affiming listeners, her style is strong and educated, yet inclusive and respectful.
Kathy Baldock has been an Evangelical Christian for almost 30 years, attending conservative congregations. The transition from tolerance to advocacy grew as Kathy expanded her relationships with gay friends and attended a GLBT Christian conference in 2006.
Drawn by God to understand the GLBT people and their stories, she was the one of the first straight Christian to attend the Gay Christian Conference. Kathy has initiated the “str8apology” action at Gay Pride events. It is a simple act of apology to the glbt community for the unfair treatment and rejection by Christians.

First of all we want to thank you for the work that you do, we feel that it is so important to bridge the gap and to allow individuals from the lgbt community who feel close to God to sense a true acceptance from a group that has long cast them aside.
